An American Arts & Crafts Period Rose Quartz Necklace with Onyx & Pearl Gold Clasp by Edward Oakes, of The Oakes Studio. The slightly graduated rose quartz beads accented with an Onyx & Oriental Seed Pearls clasp. Length approxiamtely 18.875 inches

This unsigned necklace is attributed to Edward Oakes of The Oakes Studio.

In 1923, Edward Oakes was awared a Medal at the Society of Arts and Crafts of Boston. Oakes was proud when The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a pendant of his for its permanent collection Edith Alpers stated that this was "the first such purchase made from a living American craftsman" in an article British Jewellery Studies, Vol. 3) Today Jewelry by The Oakes Studio is in many Museum Collections.

The ring measures size 8.  The ring bears impressed marks for Oakes Studios.  The ring is in excellent condition consistent with age.  There is a small chip to the opal.
