An American Arts & Crafts Period Rose Quartz Necklace with Onyx & Pearl Gold Clasp by Edward Oakes, of The Oakes Studio. The slightly graduated rose quartz beads accented with an Onyx & Oriental Seed Pearls clasp. Length approxiamtely 18.875 inches

This unsigned necklace is attributed to Edward Oakes of The Oakes Studio.

In 1923, Edward Oakes was awared a Medal at the Society of Arts and Crafts of Boston. Oakes was proud when The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a pendant ofhis for its permanent collection Edith Alpers stated that this was “the first such purchase made from a living American craftsman” in an article British Jewellery Studies, Vol. 3) Today Jewelry by The Oakes Studio is in many Museum Collections.
