This unsigned necklace, is attributed to Edward Oakes of The Oakes Studio.

In 1923, Edward Oakes was awared a Medal at the Society of Arts and Crafts of Boston. Oakes was proud when The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a pendant of his for its permanent collection Edith Alpers stated that this was “the first such purchase made from a living American craftsman” in an article British Jewellery Studies, Vol. 3) Today Jewelry by The Oakes Studio is in many Museum Collections.
