In 1923, Edward Oakes was awared a Medal at theSociety of Arts and Crafts of Boston. Oakes was proud when The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a pendant of his for its permanent collection Edith Alpers stated that this was “the first such purchase made from a living American craftsman” in anarticle British Jewellery Studies, Vol. 3 Today, Jewelry by The Oakes Studio is in many Museum Collections
